1 Lb. Sausage; (Pork or Turkey) |
1/2 C. Green Pepper; Chopped (Optional) |
1/2 C. Onion; Chopped (Optional) |
1.25 C. Celery; Chopped (Optional) |
1 Package Chicken Noodle Soup Mix; The kind in a box (like Lipton) |
2.5 C. Water; Boiling |
1/2 C. Rice; Uncooked |
2 Tbsp Butter; Melted |
1/2 C. Almonds; Slivered |
Brown the sausage in a large skillet. Pour off any excess fat. Add green pepper, onion, and celery as desired and return to stove. Saute until tender.
Combine the Lipton soup and boiling water in a sauce pan. Stir in the rice. Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
Add the sausage mix and salt to the Lipton/rice sauce pan. Mix well. Pour into greased baking dish (8x8).
Sprinkle with almonds and drizzle with melted butter. Bake 20 minutes at 375 degrees.
